56 of 59 people found the following review helpful Great product after leakage fixed, This review is from: Waterpik SWI 615 Sinusense Water Pulsator Includes 15 Soothing Saline Packs With Aloe Vera and Eucalyptus, Blue/white (Health and Beauty) I purchased the Sinusense locally before I read the reviews, and before I found the $10 coupon (Grrrr!). As other reviewers have stated, water does get into the battery compartment. This happened after only two uses. But, because I had convinced my wife to use it to relieve her severe stuffy nose (she refuses to use nose spray) I felt compelled to find a solution to the battery compartment leakage. Vaseline petroleum jelly to the rescue!Open the battery compartment. If you have used it, and water seeped in, wipe the battery compartment and batteries dry and allow it to air dry for a couple of hours. Simply smear a small amount of petroleum jelly along the edge of the raised area of the compartment that has the small rubber gasket, and along both surfaces where the battery cover comes into contact with the main housing of the pump. Re-insert the batteries and replace the battery compartment cover by tightening the screw. This small amount of pet jelly will form a perfect... If there turn out to be problems with any part of it, it is clear Waterpik is dedicated to attending to the customer---mine came with a glaring note saying to contact them if there are any problems. They should have realized the design flaw in the original, but they appear to have done their best to make up for it and the new product is really helpful and deserving of a spot in the marketplace.Having read the reviews here, I hoped and expected that the product had been redesigned, though it seems some recent reviewers still got an old product, which confused things a little. I saw why this might have happened when I visited my local W-mart store: they had three pulsators in boxes marked "new and improved" on the upper left corner, and one all the way on the back of the shelf in a box marked... I have owned this less than 24 hours and used it 4 times. Twice each side, once in the morning and once in the evening. By the 3rd time I noticed that I was getting this brownish colored water near the bottom where the water container connects to the unit. I cleaned and just thought that maybe some bloody discharge from my surgery came out. The next nostril I used it and then took off the water container and investigated a little bit further and noticed the brownish water was coming from the metal piece with the screw that holds in the batteries. Turns out water is someone getting into the batteries and causing battery acid or corrision to leak into the water I just ran through my sinuses. This is absolutely crazy. I just had surgery and now have battery acid in my sinsus cavities. I would not recommend this product to anyone and would not be suprised if it... Read more |
