My reason for giving it four out of five stars is poor design. The base unit is attached by cord to the power supply which is an awful lot to tote around when the reservoir needs to be refilled. We have purified, demineralized water at various sinks in our home. If you could simply unplug the unit at the base it would make things much easier. The power required is 24VDC at 3.5 amps. Now how about getting rid of the power supply completely and incorporating a self-contained battery that charges on a basestation? Now you'll have yourself a six! It has really helped the dryness in my nasal passages due to medications for rheumatoid arthritis, and I would recommend it to anyone who has such problems. A few days ago my MyPurMist suddenly stopped working. I emailed MyPurMist on a Sunday afternoon and within two hours I had a response. They said they would ship me a new unit the next day. I just set up this compact machine on the table top & carry the small measuring cup to fill it with distilled water. You just remove cap & pour the water into the chamber.For me, I don't feel that it needs batteries, as it works with ease. I like the fact that you can readily adjust the temperature of the mist. It is totally superior/safer than Netti pots, irrigating with syringe devices or steaming over a stove. I clean/dry my mask daily. One should have extras to use if ill.The machine,once the treatment is over,continues to run on red light to dry the interior. This is to prevent growth of germs/mold. As a singer with chronic sinus problems,I feel it works well for me. As a retired RN,I feel it is safe, if I keep masks clean/dry & always let it run to dry the interior. Jeanne |
