I was surprised that the NetiPot I received was actually blue and plastic. I had thought I was getting a ceramic one. But, I have used it once so far and I actually think the plastic is a good thing because it's lightweight while you're holding it up in the air during use. It also has a lid w/ a hole which helps control flow amount. The packets that came with it seem fine, but I'll probably just mix my own salt in after I run out. Would definitely order this one again in the future! Also, for those of you who can't decide whether you will be able to do this, will like it, etc. I thought $12 wasn't a bad trial rate, especially since NeilMed has a satisfaction guarantee for 90 days. And, I think you'll be surprised at how pleasant it feels when you get the water temp right! I used to take antihistamines about once a week or every day during allergy seasons. Since using the neti pot every morning, now I rarely use them. It's a relief not to carry tissues with you everywhere you go. Another added benefit is that my RGP contact lenses are now more comfortable than ever! I did not realize dirty sinuses are causing my eyes to feel scratchy and dry. When I use the neti pot, I could feel my tear ducts being cleaned out too. My eyes now look clearer and brighter. When I first bought this neti pot, I was pissed off that I paid umpteen dollars for a piece of cheap plastic. Later I was glad I bought it because I travel often so it's very lightweight and doesn't take up a lot of space. It's easy to clean and hard to break. Murray (Las Vegas, NV USA) - See all my reviews    I purchased this item because I have daily morning and night sinus issues--nasal discharge, itchy nostrils, and sneezing. I first saw a neti pot used on a popular TV show, and it seemed like its use might help alleviate my daily sinus problems. I liked the features of this particular pot--plastic and unbreakable, it has a lid, and its shaft is shaped with a bulbous end to prevent leakage at the nostril. After using my neti pot, my sinuses are about 80-85% improved. Believe me, that's a huge improvement. But an even bigger surprise is that from the first night of its use (at bedtime), another problem has also been corrected--my inability to get to sleep and have a good night's rest. I never dreamed (no pun intended!) that my sinuses were the problem that kept me from sleeping at night! Using a neti pot has definitely improved my quality of life.
